Spring has sprung here in Emerald Park with the birth of several baby ring tailed lemurs. Mams “Charlie” and “Diana” gave birth to a single baby each, while experienced mother “Dolly” gave birth to a set of twins. All babies are doing well and are starting move around. They can be seen with their mothers in the Lemur Woods.
On a sad note, our beautiful reindeer “Princess” passed away after a short illness in March. “Princess” was a geriatric animal that had lived in Emerald Park for most of her life where she was a firm favourite with both zookeepers and visitors alike. She will be missed.
The park is a hive of activity while we get ready to reopen our doors for the 2022 season.
The Corsac fox enclosure is being completed, new viewing windows have been installed at the lynx enclosure, and the animal areas are being freshened up to welcome you back.
