Come and work with our Discovery & Learning Team, as a Zoo Tour Guide, as we head into our most exciting season yet!

We are looking for enthusiastic people with excellent communication skills to help create the best possible experience for our school groups as they explore the Zoo at Emerald Park!

Tour guides facilitate our busy tour season managing school groups and presenting wildlife education in a fun, engaging, and concise manner. Our team is dedicated to enriching the visitors understanding of wildlife, conservation, and the natural world through our educational zoo tours.

Role & responsibilities

As a Zoo tour guide in our Discovery and Learning Department, you will play a key role in creating positive interaction between our guests and the zoo. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering educational content about the animals, their habitats, conservation efforts and fostering a connection between students and the natural world.
  • Lead interactive tours for diverse groups of students; customise tours to cater for all different age groups.
  • Adhering to strict time management as guides escort teachers and students around the park.
  • Encourage questions and facilitate discussion to enhance student learning and interaction.
  • Assist teachers with enquiries, directions, and general information about the park.
  • Ensure the safety of students by adhering to safety guidelines and protocols within the park.

  • Emerald Park Education Centre
  • Indoor & outdoor work required

Requirements

  • Applicants must be 17 years or older by March 29th, 2025.
  • Prior work experience is not a requirement and we welcome individuals who are entering the workforce for the first time.
  • This is a seasonal contract position. Estimated start date May – September 28th 2025 . Contracts may be extended.
